We offer a wide range of Sunday School classes for all ages. Join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 and see how the Bible can affect your life.Primary (1st-3rd Grade) GOAL: To teach children familiar Bible stories that present lessons and how children apply those lessons in everyday life. The children begin to learn the Children’s catechisms. Using Scripture Press literature, the children are taught lessons that point them to the Savior, Jesus Christ, by familiarizing them with stories in the Bible.
Junior (4th-6th Grade) GOAL: To see how the Bible stories the children learned in their younger years apply to their lives. By studying God’s Word, they see how they can live today guided by his will. Using short Bible stories and activities found in Great Commission Publications, “Discoverer” series these children gain a greater understanding of what God has in store for them and some of the things they should do to follow God’s will for their lives.
Junior High (7th-9th Grade) GOAL: To learn about the documents that make up the bedrock of our faith. By exposing these youth to documents such as The Westminster Confession of Faith and The Shorter Catechism, they gain a better understanding of what we as reformed Presbyterians believe in. Using a question/answer and discussion format, all aspects of what we believe are covered. This is intended to give them an overview and a sound basis for why they are members of God’s church.
Senior High (10th -12th Grade) GOAL: To show how the Bible may be used as a life applications guide for young adults. Why at an age when so many young adults are turning away from the Bible, it is more important then ever to turn to the Bible as a blue print for our lives. Currently, this group is studying the Book of Job.
Adult I GOAL: A concentrated study of scripture, trying to understand the
thrust of each passage and to explain some of the difficult verses.
- The class began their study recently of “Let’s Study Revelation” by Derek Thomas. Dr. Thomas is professor of systematic theology at RTS. Be sure to make plans now to attend this class studying the book of Revelation, a book which has so often proved a mystery to contemporary Christians or a vehicle for fanciful predictions and schemes!
Adult II GOAL: A concentrated study of scripture, trying to understand the thrust of each passage and to explain some of the difficult verses.
- The class began the study of “Pray with Your Eyes Open” by Richard Pratt. “Pray With Your Eyes Open” is a book in the tradition of J. I. Packer’s “Knowing God” and R. C. Sproul’s “One Holy Passion”. This practical how-to manual should help believers make their prayer lives more meaningful.
Adult III GOAL: A concentrated study of scripture, trying to understand the thrust of each passage and to explain some of the difficult verses.
- The class is studying “The Family Worship Book” by Terry Johnson. Terry Johnson has provided us a superb resource for family religion: “The Family Worship Book”. He provides a brief but compelling argument for the importance of family worship, but then takes those he has convinced in theory to the next step: Actually putting it into practice.
